This is a thing that is happening soon.
The website you have stumbled upon at which you currently gaze, perhaps by accident but more likely on our insistence, is the future site of The Historically Accurate* Adventures of Jack and Voytek. What do those words mean? Nothing yet. But in the near future, they will be the title of a comic strip presented to you here on this great Internet; a “web-comic,” if you will. It will be illustrated by Xander Kent, who has another webcomic, 6th Circle, and written by me, Sam Hock, a man in his twenties with some stories to tell.
The Historically Accurate* Adventures of Jack and Voytek will be a period comedy set against the backdrop of Europe during the second World War, the tale of two beings plucked from the annals of real, actual, 100% not-making-this-up history that I’m really honestly seriously not inventing out of my brain. You can read about Jack Churchill and Voytek the Soldier Bear on the site that sparked our interest in their legends: here and here, respectively.
Our comic (The Historically Accurate* Adventures of Jack and Voytek) operates under the hypothetical that Jack Churchill and Voytek the Soldier Bear were, in fact, good chums who joined forces to cut a swath of devastation and lively times through the Third Reich. If you need help getting into the right frame of mind, try to picture the exact middle point between Saving Private Ryan and Calvin and Hobbes.
I have little more to say on the matter just yet. The pieces are still being set upon the chessboard. Come back soon and see how we’re doing. If all goes to plan, we will launch before APE this year, and I will be on hand at the convention at Xander’s booth for 6th Circle. (Booth 710!) Drop on by, say hello, and be a part of this thing from the beginning! And if we haven’t gotten going by then, drop on by and slap us around a little. Ask what’s taking so long. In either case, buy a pin.
I hope we have pins.

*The Historically Accurate Adventures of Jack and Voytek is mostly historical and not very accurate.
OK, Sam, you piqued my interest after the Deadlands game at BBC. Get this comic posting! It sounds awesome. I know plenty of people who would dig something half as cool as it sounds.
Awesome! Thank you so much! I hope you tell these people of yours all about it!
